Coaching has many similarities to counseling and psychotherapy. All are conversational methods for gaining new insights into ourselves and creating opportunities for change. Counseling and/or psychotherapy is a healthcare service and is often reimbursable through health insurance policies. This is not true for coaching. Both coaching and psychotherapy utilize knowledge of human behavior, motivation, behavioral change, and interactive counseling techniques. Coaching focuses on developing and implementing strategies that will help you reach your goals of enhanced performance and higher personal satisfaction. I am trained as a coach, and while we work together, I will be gentle, direct, and challenging. All my work is bound by the International Coach Federation Code Of Ethics, and your privacy and confidentiality are always fully honored and respected.

Initial Interviews

It is important that we have a good connection and there are coachable challenges to work on together. We’ll do our coaching by phone or video chat.

Contact me for a free 20-30 minute consultation and interview. In most situations, we will know within 15-20 minutes if we have the right relationship for coaching. This call is to help you feel informed about coaching and get a sense of who I am and what I can provide. If there is a better coach for your goals, I may refer you to an associate, depending on your goals. I want coaching to work for you and to earn your business by being straightforward and putting your goals first.

Coaching Sessions

All meetings are virtual via telephone or Zoom.

Most scheduled sessions are scheduled for 1 hour (though sometimes they can be a little longer, depending on the situation). You have the ability to self-schedule, and you can pick a schedule that works for you – usually, bi-weekly sessions work best for Corporate Leadership Coaching, or if we are working in Career Coaching, we’ll have a set pattern of meetings. In between sessions, I am 100% available for quick, on-topic coaching (what some of us call “laser coaching”) by voice, email, or text. For busy professionals, we can also schedule 30-minute or 45-minute coaching sessions – services are sold by the hour and can be set up in a way that works best for your needs and schedule.

Appointment times are available starting at 8 a.m., with the last appointment of the day starting at 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, we end the day at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

“I started working with Tim when I was anticipating a return to the workforce after eight years at home with my children. Tim has the warmth and humor of a friend, and the skills, focus and discipline of a true professional, making him both easy to talk to and remarkably effective.  He is particularly skilled at noticing habitual language, body cues, and life patterns which can hold you back, and helps you to find different ways of thinking and acting which are loving and empowering.

Tim is also masterful at drawing out what you really want, and helped me reconnect with a career vision and next steps for work that were meaningful and exciting.  I leave sessions feeling energized, clear, relaxed, an ready to go.  Thanks to Tim, when the right job came up this summer, I felt confident enough to land it.  Sign up with this guy!” – LF
